本期專輯刊出的四篇論文,皆曾發表於「明代選本中的戲、曲、文學與文化國際交流工作坊」,並歷經嚴謹的審稿機制。在內容部分,接續上期專輯,有兩篇文章提出關於曲類選本議題的論述;此外,更有一篇關於小說選本的研究,以及一篇討論科舉制度下,與士人結社文化、論學習文風潮相生相繫的「泛戲曲評述」研究。有意思的是,後兩篇看似非關戲曲的研究篇章,不約而同提到湯顯祖」的影響:或托名湯若士評點的小說集,或提及湯顯祖《牡丹亭》對時文制藝的啟發。由此可知,跨域視角才是更貼近古代文學與文化的研究方法:在明代,戲曲之於文人士子,不一定是專門學問、獨門技藝,更多地寄託在科舉應試、文章摹寫、同好聚會的日常隙罅之中。即便作為販文之舉,也常與小說、時文、或其他通俗文學出版相呼應。讀者觀眾不只購買曲選或曲集,也流連賞玩他類書籍。如此多元、紛呈、揉雜的出版樣態,恰合於戲曲作為「經史子集」四部之「末」、之「餘」的情況;反過來說,也使戲曲得以包納地位於其上的經史子集等文類,形成海納百川的深廣內涵,成為明代文學文化知識結構中的資料庫。
