本期專輯刊出的四篇論文，皆曾發表於「明代選本中的戲、曲、文學與文化國際交流工作坊」，並歷經嚴謹的審稿機制。在內容部分，接續上期專輯，有兩篇文章提出關於曲類選本議題的論述；此外，更有一篇關於小說選本的研究，以及一篇討論科舉制度下，與士人結社文化、論學習文風潮相生相繫的「泛戲曲評述」研究。有意思的是，後兩篇看似非關戲曲的研究篇章，不約而同提到湯顯祖」的影響：或托名湯若士評點的小說集，或提及湯顯祖《牡丹亭》對時文制藝的啟發。由此可知，跨域視角才是更貼近古代文學與文化的研究方法：在明代，戲曲之於文人士子，不一定是專門學問、獨門技藝，更多地寄託在科舉應試、文章摹寫、同好聚會的日常隙罅之中。即便作為販文之舉，也常與小說、時文、或其他通俗文學出版相呼應。讀者觀眾不只購買曲選或曲集，也流連賞玩他類書籍。如此多元、紛呈、揉雜的出版樣態，恰合於戲曲作為「經史子集」四部之「末」、之「餘」的情況；反過來說，也使戲曲得以包納地位於其上的經史子集等文類，形成海納百川的深廣內涵，成為明代文學文化知識結構中的資料庫。
